Re: [Football] Monday 11th vs Star Medical All Stars @ 9pm.

How'd it go last night? Please tell me you managed to pull a shock 2-1
victory out the bag....
A 6-3 loss I'm afraid, but that doesn't tell the whole story.
At half time we were 3-2 up, our opponents were pissed off and really
thought they were going to lose! Everyone put a lot of effort in and
Rachid, Geoff and I (!) scored, we had a few more chances that we
didn't manage to put away.
Our defending wasn't the best we've played and in the second half they
came out and played better whilst our fitness (certainly in my case) meant
that we were more tired and couldn't do all of the running required - we
only had 7 instead of the full 8 as well.
So, all in all one of the weakest teams we've fielded was winning at half
time but lost thanks to tired legs in the second half against the FOURTH
placed team in the league!
We were all pissed off we lost, but I think we were all happy that we put
in a pretty good performance.
I'll update the site later today.
Next week's game is the last before the new year - our first game will
be on Jan 8th. Against "14 Guns" I saw them play ( and lose) to
Woodies Wanderers last night when I went back to get my inhaler.
14 Guns had young players good on the ball, but less strategy that
Woodies. Woodies seemd to keep possesion and break forward well.
Probably why they're top.
Jim.
